James T. Barnett, Jr., M.D. is a physiatrist, a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Using a nonsurgical approach, he treats muscle, nerve and bone disorders, working to restore patients to their maximum function. He has a special interest in neck and back pain.

In addition to practicing with UOC at the Northport Medical Plaza office, Dr. Barnett serves as Medical Director of DCH Rehabilitation Pavilion.

Dr. Barnett received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama. He also served as Chief Resident of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, he has been practicing this specialty in Tuscaloosa since 1993.
