Advanced Physician Care

Caring for patients from the business community is of utmost importance to University Orthopaedic Clinic. Over the years we have tailored many of our services to better serve this important area.

All UOC physicians are board certified and treat work-related injuries. UOC's Dr. Donald Scott has focused much of his practice on the area of orthopaedic occupational medicine. He has developed specialized knowledge of these work related needs by touring area industries, meeting with HRM and safety personnel, and attending safety and workers' compensation conferences.

Timely, Streamlined Communication

Speedy and accurate communication is a top priority when it comes to work-related injuries. The UOC Workers’ Compensation Department tracks patients through the treatment process, coordinates light duty assignments, answers employer and third-party administrator questions, and communicates with all involved parties. To facilitate communication, UOC has also developed a Preliminary Specialist/Consultant Report. This same day report is completed and transmitted on the day the patient has been seen by a UOC physician.

Physical Therapy Services

To provide better patient services UOC includes physical therapy in its healthcare service mix. Located just across the street from UOC's current Bryant Drive clinic, the in-house service ensures an enhanced continuity of care for work injury patients. With UOC physicians and therapists working closely together, seldom does a patient experience a delay.

Comprehensive Care

Over the past few years UOC has experienced significant growth. The practice now provides complete physical rehabilitation treatment, in-house physical therapy, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). University Orthopaedic Clinic has three convenient Tuscaloosa/Northport locations and a clinic in Fayette, AL.
