William Carter Standeffer, Jr., M.D. joined the University Orthopaedic Clinic medical staff in March, 2001. Dr. Standeffer is a native of Tuscaloosa and has been in private practice in Meridian and Tuscaloosa since completing his medical training in 1997.

With an undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, Dr. Standeffer received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. After completing a residency in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Standeffer then received a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Lipscomb Clinic in Nashville.

Dr. Standeffer has worked as Assistant Team Physician with Tennessee State University, the University of Alabama, and as Team Physician at Stillman College. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the College of Community Health Services in Tuscaloosa.
